Along with a great pumpkin carving contest, a war is a must. What else are you going to do with rotten pumpkins.
Design Studio is a public high school "design/build" curriculum that sparks rural community development through real-world, creative projects. By learning through a design sensibility, applied core subjects, and "dirt-under-your-fingernails" construction skills, students develop the creative capital, critical thinking, and citizenship necessary for their own success and for the future of their communities.

Pumpkin Designs 2010
2010 this is our 5th year doing this project. The students love this each and every year. Students are encouraged to think "outside" the box and beware of the normal "Jack-O" Lantern. They use several of the skills learned in Drafting Design. This year I would like to thank Mor Lyn's Fine Jewelry, Gifts and Antiques for their support and for being a partner in education.

I <3 Marketing
I have always been a HUGE fan of marketing. The great thing about marketing is a lot of that has to do with Graphic Design. Any professional worth hiring is going to not only be good at his/her trade but also need to be good as self promotion, marketing, business, etc... So that is a big part of what I teach in Drafting Design. A student must be able to have a great resume, a portfolio, webpage, twitter, blog, facebook, myspace... and yes even a poster and t-shirt design. Here are just a few of the designs that my students and I have created to promote Drafting Design.
